April 13, 2013 – Alexandria City Council approved the rezoning for the Beauregard Small Area Plan with a vote of 6 to 1.

April 2, 2013 – The Alexandria Planning Commission unanimously approved a resolution supporting recommendations to the Alexandria City Council for the zoning required for the implementation of the Beauregard Small Area Plan. 

February 2013 – The City’s Affordable Housing Advisory Commission (AHAC) unanimously supported the Housing and Relocation plans.

January 2013 – Currently JBG, along with the other Beauregard property owners, is pursuing approval of a Rezoning and Coordinated Development District Concept Plan. The rezoning and concept plan are needed to implement the Beauregard Small Area Plan that was approved last spring. All of these applications are part of a public process and will involve public outreach, notification and opportunities for comment from the community.

May 2012 – after a three year public process, the City of Alexandria approved the Beauregard Small Area Plan. This plan will guide redevelopment in the Beauregard corridor over the next 30 years, serving as a roadmap for accommodating expected growth.
